Training in hazard studies

Objectives

  • Explain the steps involved in carrying out a hazard study in a port area: risk analysis for hazardous products and installations including container terminal and bulk terminals, scenario selection, modeling, analysis of safety barriers, risk acceptability, etc.

  • To raise awareness of the tools to be used and the information to be collected for this type of study

Content

  • Day 1 morning: Welcome, tour de table, program introduction

  • Day 1 afternoon: Reminder of the regulatory context and best practices, notions and concepts to master, key guidelines

  • Day 2 morning: Risk analysis, methods and tools, accidentology

  • Day 2 afternoon: Hazardous phenomena (fire, explosion, dispersion)

  • Day 3 morning: Modeling accidents and their effects

  • Day 3 afternoon: Exercise with modeling software

  • Day 4 morning: Technical and human safety barriers, emergency plans

  • Day 4 afternoon: Q&A, round-table discussion, closing ceremony and presentation of certificates
